The Hero's Journey

The Hero's Journey is a narrative theory invented by Joseph Campbell (The Hero with a Thousand Faces (1949)).  Based on analysis of thousands of  storys, Campbell argues that they all follow a certain pattern (although some things may fall in different places, and other things might not be included from story to story).  The Hero's Journey has been used in the creation of vastly successful stories such as: Star Wars, The Lion King, The Matrix.
